I’ll be writer-in-residence for this non-profit’s arts program. Write On provides a place of solitude and reflection on nearly 39 acres of woods, orchards, and meadows nestled between the water of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. I’ll be quietly working on my current project, hopefully in the famed coop of Door County writer Norbert Blei. For almost 45 years, Blei wrote in his chicken coop – turned writing studio – at his home in Ellison Bay. The coop was rescued by Write On and is now a charming writing nook for countless creators. May its artsy vibes inspire me.
I’m thrilled to be one of the organizers of this six-region, Midwestern mega-conference, designed to give attendees the experience of a large SCBWI New York or Los Angeles conference — but closer to home. The triennial conference will feature more than 35 faculty members sharing content for writers and illustrators to move forward your Works In Progress and your career.
